WELCOME TO THE ON-LINE HOME OF TEDxNEWYORK.

TEDxNewYork is held at GreyNY, 200 Fifth Avenue. We meet every week (mostly) on Fridays now and (mostly) from 1-2pm. We are open to the public. If you want to attend, send a note to admin@tedxnewyork.com (that's Don McKinney & Chel O'Reilly) with your vitals. Our biggest limitation is space so give us plenty of notice and we'll do our best to accommodate. Hope to see you at one of our events soon.

Session 3: ReConnect- Seth Godin

Website issues AGAIN. Sorry for the break in time.

Seth Godin is so quotable even if I get a tiny bit annoyed with his blog sometimes. He’s talking about the success of change, the necessity of change.

Here are some highlights, some of his major points:

Leaders challenge the status quo:
They build a culture
They have curiousity
They connect people
They have charisma
They commit to the chttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifause/the tribe/ the people

Oh and being a leader GIVES you charisma, not the other way around.

3 questions:
1) who are you upsetting? If you’re not doing it, you’re not changing
2) who are you connecting?
3) who are you leading?

And... Seth just dropped a shout-out for the Kindle. He loves it, he has his opinions about what could be done better in its design and he can’t wait for 2.0 on Monday. Ha! (It helps to register your complaints when Jeff Bezos is in the audience.)

To us he issued a challenge: create a movement. Right now. You have 24 hours.
